A recent study by Boston Consulting Group determined that the GLP-1 support market, which includes products and services being purchased by those on GLP-1 medications, is roughly $13B today and could grow to $50B or more by 2030. Support from nutrition products for those on weight loss medications, however, is just part of the lifestyle modification equation. A holistic program that includes personalized support to help people learn new lifestyle habits and stay accountable during their transformation is another important element to helping individuals succeed in their health and wellness journeys.

Medifast’s Acquisition Channels
Medifast is committed to driving growth and enhancing brand visibility through a $30 million investment in company-led marketing efforts to elevate brand awareness, foster engagement, and drive customer conversion. With an omnichannel approach, the digital-first campaign is expected to introduce new branding and elevate the website and digital experience. These investments will ramp up later in the second quarter and even more so in the second half of the year, helping form the foundation of the company’s strategy to return to growth and in broadening and deepening our acquisition channels to focus on three key pillars – our marketing initiatives, the expansion of our Coaching network and our strategic collaboration with LifeMD.

Medifast is founded, having created a proprietary formula for meal replacements distributed exclusively through doctors.
As a testament to its significant growth and success, the company goes public for the first time on the American Stock Exchange (AMEX). In 2006, Medifast joins the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as it continues to grow in sales and earnings.
Medifast launches the 5 & 1 Plan along with the Lean & Green meal that offers an endless variety of protein and fresh veggie options to help Clients reach optimal health in delicious, new ways. The clinically proven Plan and scientifically designed products were developed by physicians, dietitians and scientists.
With Dr. A’s Habits of Health Transformational System, Clients learn to create healthy habits through small, daily changes called microHabits – often starting with achieving a healthy weight and focusing on healthy eating. It isn’t only about the food you eat, though. The program also addresses hydration, exercise, sleep, mindfulness and surroundings – with the goal of healthy habit creation in all areas of life.
There are three fundamental truths that we believe to be true: People are more successful in their health journey when they (1) have help from a Coach, (2) have the support of a Community and (3) incorporate healthy habits into their lives. These insights brought about the evolution of our brand and how we support people in their journey, now exclusively through the OPTAVIAOPTAVIA integrated Coach model.
